At the IV Russo-Sino-Kazakh Oil and Gas Forum, the Gas Section was received very well by the delegates – it was highly informative, well attended and addressed interesting and controversial issues. Among the key speakers were representatives from Gazprom, BG Group and KazMunaiGaz management as well as government officials and major gas producing countries.

It was therefore decided to expand the Gas Section to a full conference. The objectives of the CIS, Central Asia and Asia Pacific Gas Conference are to highlight the demand drivers and specifics of pricing in Asia Pacific, to discuss the main destinations for Russian, Kazakh, Turkmen and Central Asian gas to China and Asia Pacific, to assess whether the Central Asian reserves will be able to meet the demand and the term obligations, to analyse the current state of gas distribution in China and Asia Pacific and prospects for its further development.
